Hello everyone,

My name is Mrs Bisht and I am thrilled to be entering the third year of my teaching. I have always loved Early Years and very excited to join the Early Years team. I am very passionate about not only supporting children to reach their academic potential, but also to become compassionate and aspirational individuals. I love to see the children grow and what better way to start from the starting point (Nursery).

In my personal time, I love to get my fingers green and spend time gardening and be in nature and spend time with my family and friends. I love to travel.

Essex - Ms Mackenzie

Hello, My name is Mrs McKenzie and I am an experienced teacher here at Eastbury.

I am excited to be back in a Reception class this year. As an Early Years Teacher, I am passionate about fostering an inclusive, nurturing environment where every child is valued and encouraged to achieve their full potential. I believe in embracing the holistic development of each child, supporting them in becoming independent, resilient learners who are ready to thrive and embrace their school life.

With a strong focus on well-being, I am also completing a Forest School Leader course and I will be supporting all year groups with outdoor learning. I recognise the profound impact that nature-based interventions can have on a child’s emotional, social, and cognitive development. Through outdoor learning, I aim to create meaningful experiences that inspire curiosity, creativity, and confidence.

In my personal life, I like to spend time with my family and enjoy travelling.

I am very happy and privileged to join the ECS team. I have been a teacher for 10 years and I have thoroughly enjoyed every year. I am now looking forward to my next chapter in my career at Eastbury Community School. I love teaching every subject but my favourite subject to teach is maths. In my own time, outside of work, I love to go the gym and bake cakes. I love animals and I have a pet dog called Otis. He is a large cockapoo and he is crazy!

Trinity - Ms Ahmed

I have been a teacher for 10 years and have taught at many different schools in London, with experience teaching from Nursery through to Year 6. My favourite Year group would have to be Year 1, I love to see how children develop and grow. I hope to inspire a love of learning, bring out individual characteristics, make them see that life is full of surprises, help them have the ability to shine in whatever they are good at and guide them through anything that they may find challenging. I want to give them the tools to be individuals as they go through school and life outside of school. They are our future.

In my spare time I love to travel, shop, draw, get creative, spend time with my loved ones and watch a whole ton of movies!

Bristol - Ms Zhorna

With over a decade of experience in teaching, I am driven by a deep passion for education and a love for nurturing young minds. My energetic, outgoing, and animated personality allows me to create an engaging and joyful learning environment where children feel encouraged to explore, grow, and thrive. I’ve had the privilege of working with children from diverse backgrounds and needs, tailoring my approach to ensure that every student receives the individualized attention they deserve.

Outside of the classroom, I embrace the role of full-time mom to a spirited toddler who keeps me on my toes and brings endless joy to my life. I’m also a strong advocate for promoting wellbeing, both in my personal life and professional practice, always striving to create a harmonious balance that fosters happiness, health, and success in all areas.

Bristol - Ms Khalique

I am very lucky to be working at Eastbury as it is the local school in my community. I have been teaching for 15 years across inner city London boroughs and schools and now work part time as I have a very busy home life with my three young children. I am very passionate about not only supporting children to reach their academic potential, but also to become compassionate and aspirational individuals. As a teacher, I have always loved Early Years education, early reading and more recently I am curious to learn more about neurodiversity. In my personal time, I love to read, go to the theatre, be in nature and spend time with my family and friends. I dream one day of travelling around the world!

Cardiff - Ms Hayden

I have been a primary school teacher for a third of my life! All of this time has allowed me to gain a rich bank of knowledge and expertise across the curriculum. I believe that being able to read and accessing a variety of texts unlocks a fulfilled and happy life for all. Reading and writing for pleasure supports our mental health and academic career.

I also love gardening, allotments and the idea of having a kitchen garden! Hopefully, ECS will have its very own kitchen garden growing soon!

Belfast - Ms George

Hello Belfast, I am your new teacher Miss George. I am looking forward to getting to know you all more! My hobbies are reading, listening to music and going for nice, long walks. This year we will work together to show excellence, collaboration and success!

Glasgow - Ms Shalim

Hello, I'm Ms. Shalim, and I’m thrilled to be entering my fourth year at ECS! This year marks an exciting new chapter for me as I join the Key Stage 2 team. I’m eager to guide and inspire my students through this important stage of their learning journey. I look forward to helping students develop their critical thinking in RE, explore their creativity in Art, and discover new ways to express themselves.

Outside of school, I love cooking, spending quality time with my family and exploring new cultures by travelling to different countries.

Exeter - Mr Encarnacion

Hello! I'm thrilled to be joining this vibrant community as a New Year 4 teacher. My passion for teaching shines brightest when I'm working with math and English—subjects that I find endlessly fascinating and rewarding to explore with students. Beyond the classroom, I have a deep love for reading. Whether it’s diving into a biography, history or discovering a new favourite, books are a big part of my life. I also enjoy playing the piano, which is a wonderful way for me to relax and express myself creatively. I'm looking forward to a fantastic year ahead, full of learning, growth, and fun!

Birmingham- Ms Fearnley

Teaching is not something I do but, part of who I am. I hope to instil a lifelong joy and passion for learning in my students. My goal is not simply to teach a curriculum but to encourage children to become more responsible, caring and inquisitive. I have a keen interest in psychology and spirituality.

Nottingham - Ms Shah

I am a passionate Year 5 teacher who has been teaching in KS2 since the start of my career. I love the texts we explore and working with children to develop their writing and understanding of different text types (particularly older texts like Beowulf and The Highway Man).

My favourite subjects are RE and History!

Outside of school, I love to cook, read historical books and play badminton.

Edinburgh - Mr Collyer

This is my 2^nd year in year 5 and my 4^th year in KS2. I love to create lessons that are fun, engaging and most importantly, memorable. I believe that if you love coming to school then you will love the learning. I am passionate about getting everyone to link the learning to the outside world. My favourite subjects are Maths and Geography.

In my spare time I coach a local swimming team after many years competing myself as well as playing golf on the weekends.

Cambridge - Ms Ali

I am a dedicated educator with 16 years of experience in the classroom. My passion for teaching stems from a deep belief in the power of education to transform lives. I love learning and sharing that knowledge with the children, empowering them to reach their full potential. My ultimate goal is to see children succeed in life and shape their own futures.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I'm also a passionate home cook and love hosting dinner parties for my loved ones.

Oxford - Ms Rouse

I love being a teacher and helping the children in my class to be happy, successful and enjoy being at school. My favourite subjects to teach are reading and art - I love to read, and I love to draw so I always enjoy passing this on to the children and creating exciting lessons for these and all other subjects.

Emma Knight

With over a decade of teaching experience, I am passionate about fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. As a SENDCO for the past five years, my mission is to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to achieve and succeed in life, regardless of their challenges. I have a deep love for teaching children to read, allowing them to immerse themselves in the magical worlds that books open up for them. Outside the classroom, I enjoy dancing, reading, and spending time with my dog, which helps me stay grounded and inspired in my teaching journey. I own my own dance school and love using dance to build confidence and grow.
